1. Double cover, broken cover (no cover)

1. Wild glue

wild glue is the most common quality problem of adhesive binding when binding books and periodicals, which is mainly related to the operation condition of adhesive binding equipment, such as loose Book splints, worn running tracks, vibration when books move, etc. After the rubber wheel is worn, the diameters of the front and rear wheels are different. After the front wheel is rubbed, the rear rubber wheel cannot be completely smoothed, which will also produce wild glue. In addition, when the adhesive binding equipment is running, the technical performance (such as melt temperature, package speed, etc.) is unstable or does not meet the requirements, which will also produce wild glue. Therefore, to avoid the generation of wild glue, first of all, the equipment should be comprehensively adjusted, and the parts and components that are excessively worn should be replaced. The temperature of hot melt glue and the speed of cost input should be strictly controlled within the scope of technical standards. These data can be determined after the computer test with a small number of samples

2. Empty back

empty back greatly affects the beauty of books, and in serious cases, it will also cause pages to fall off and scatter. The hollow back may be caused by the serious problems of the hot melt adhesive itself, such as the hot melt adhesive contains many impurities and bubbles when melting; It may also be caused by less glue or uneven glue, insufficient contact between the surface of the rubber wheel and the book block, or poor parallelism of the rubber wheel. In addition, the squeegee rubber is too tight with the book block or the rubber is too hard, which will also scrape off the glue that has been brushed, causing an empty back

the solutions are: (1) select hot melt adhesive with good quality, which can be determined after trial in small batches; (2) Adjust the machine so that the surface of the upper rubber wheel is in good contact with the book block. First loosen the connecting rod nut, raise the height of the upper rubber plate, and then loosen the fixed nut of the upper rubber plate to make the book block parallel to the surface of the upper rubber wheel and in good contact; (3) Adjust the distance between the rubber and the book block so that the rubber and the book block are not in tight contact, or soften the rubber

3. Glue overflow and inconsistent width of the pulp opening

the pulp opening is controlled by the glue teeth of the adhesive binding machine. If the upper glue plate is in poor contact with the book block, or the parallelism of the upper glue plate is poor, it will cause glue overflow or inconsistent width of the pulp opening. To overcome this phenomenon, you can fix the book block conveyed from the book clamping board at the sizing position to make the brush teeth contact with the book block, then loosen the fixing nut of the brush teeth, adjust the height and parallelism according to the position of the book block, and tighten the fixing nut after achieving the best effect

4. Glue holes

the generation of glue holes is the quality problem of hot melt glue itself, which is similar to empty back. In addition, improper glue temperature will produce bubbles in the glue furnace, resulting in glue holes, so it is very important to grasp the temperature of the glue furnace

5. The cover and back of the book are not tilted.

the cover conveyor wheel transports the cover to the table. If the feeding position is insufficient or the positioning is not correct, the cover will be tilted and inaccurate. To overcome this, it is necessary to adjust the machine. First, loosen the fixed nut of the push plate transmission connecting rod, rotate the connecting rod, and lengthen or shorten the connecting rod to make the push plate move forward or backward; At the same time, adjust the push plates on both sides of the cover and back cover parallel to the book block to start the instrument and automatically stop and position the head and foot after 500 or 1000 revolutions, so as to make it accurate, so that it can be wrapped accurately. It is worth noting that before adjustment, the specification of the cover should be checked to see whether it is consistent. If there are printing rules, different sizes, skews and other phenomena, it should be removed first to ensure that the whole batch of covers are neat before being wrapped on the machine

6. The book block is skewed up and down

because the machine is not adjusted properly, the clamping plate of the clamp fails to absorb the book suction plate on the book support plate in time. Generally, the book block can be clamped when the temperature of the machine head is similar, or the clamping time is too early or too late, which will make the book block skewed up and down. At the same time, the distance between the book clamping plate and the book block is different, which will also cause the book block to be skewed up and down. Therefore, the clamping time of the slider should be adjusted first, and then the distance between the book clamping plates should be adjusted to make it completely accurate, so that there is no upward and downward skew phenomenon

7. The indentation line is too deep

the indentation line is too deep, which is easy to cause the cover to break and fall off, and it is also easy to cause bubbles on the film covered cover at this position, eventually causing large-area blistering on the cover. For this, just slightly adjust the indentation knife to the appropriate pressure

8. The back of the book is too wide or too narrow

the back is too wide or too narrow, which will cause the back to be uneven and unsightly. This phenomenon is mainly caused by the book clamping plate being too high or too low. If the spring of the book clamping does not fail, it proves that the back width of the book wrapped by the plate is too high (the back of the cover is wider than the thickness of the book block), and the back of the book wrapped by the book clamping plate is too low (the back of the cover is smaller than the thickness of the book block). Therefore, we must adjust the height of the book clamping board to avoid this phenomenon

9. Round back

the reason for the round back is that the lifting plate is not lifted in place during operation. When it is connected with the book block of the book clamping board, the gap left is too wide, resulting in a round back or empty back (in the state of lack of glue). In this regard, as long as you adjust the distance between the book clamping board and the lifting board, it can be avoided
